Concerns over staff shortages have prompted most emergency room doctors at Surrey Memorial hospital to add a note to patient charts that “Our Emergency Department is dangerously congested, and appropriate monitoring and staffing ratios are not being achieved.” The practice lasted until late April when Fraser Health told them to stop.
