F-16 fighter jets ‘clearly have a role’ in Ukraine conflict moving forward: Milley

Speaking Thursday after a meeting of the 12th Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the joint chiefs, said F-16 fighter jets “clearly have role” as Ukraine prepares for an anticipated counteroffensive against Russia. Earlier Thursday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said he hoped training for Ukrainian pilots on American-made F-16 jets would begin in the coming weeks.
