Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre told reporters on Thursday that he would not meet with former governor general David Johnston, who was appointed as Canada’s special rapporteur to investigate allegations of China’s meddling in federal elections. Poilievre said the former governor general had a “fake job” and that he had sent a letter to Johnston asking how he could independently investigate the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, of which Johnston had been a member.
