Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Grand Chief Cathy Merrick announced on Friday that the search of Prairie Green Landfill for the remains of three women is feasible based on the findings of a report. The research determined the operation could take between 12 and 36 months and cost up to $184 million. “If the search is not carried out it will demonstrate to First Nations communities that the government condones the disposal of First Nations women in Landfills,” Merrick said.
