Trudeau tells Poilievre to ‘wake up’, urges Liberal convention to reject populism

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau criticized the Conservative Party on Thursday night at the Liberal Party convention. He chided the party for sometimes calling the Liberal party’s policies “too woke,” telling Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre to “wake up.” He went on to say “wake up” to the benefits of a gender-balanced cabinet and affordable child care. The prime minister also slammed populism, saying Poilievre’s “populism, his slogans and buzzwords” were not serious solutions to the “serious challenges we’re facing.”
