Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino announced on Wednesday that the federal government was taking the “next concrete steps” in its firearms buyback program through a deal with the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association (CSAAA). The organization would work in collaboration with Public Safety Canada in administering the buyback program, with the first phase focusing on businesses with banned firearms in their possession.
