For decades, cities around the world, including Peterborough, have recognized the role of the urban forest. The trees and shrubs that are contained within city limits, but not necessarily on city property. Peterborough has specific goals for keeping canopy intact, managing the return of urban forest and even developing it further in the city.
At the same time, Peterborough GreenUp is working on tiny forests to contribute to our green urban landscape. Tiny, smaller-than-your-average-city-driveway, forests with a big impact.
Teresa Kaszuba was joined by Laura Keresztesi, program coordinator with Peterborough GreenUp, with more on this Miyawaki plan.
