Deadly coup causes panic in Sudan after dozens killed

There’s been a new blow to the hopes of an eventual transition to democracy in Sudan. Dozens of people have been killed after fierce clashes erupted in the capital of Khartoum on Sunday between the military and a powerful paramilitary force. The army has told civilians to stay inside and there are reports tomorrow will be declared a public holiday for citizens’ safety. As Reggie Cecchini explains, the violence is also raising concerns of a wider conflict.
