Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said he wants guarantees that Russia will defend his country if it is attacked. During a meeting with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on Monday, Lukashenko said he had previously discussed the matter with President Vladimir Putin, who said he agreed such security guarantees should be formalized.
