No planning grant for new Whitby hospital in provincial budget, ‘completely unacceptable’

Mayor Elizabeth Roy is calling on the provincial government for immediate funding for a planning grant to move forward with the new Lakeridge proposed hospital, currently expected to be in Whitby. Amid this, Mayor Kevin Ashe with the City of Pickering has decided to re-enter the ring, and propose the hospital be in Pickering instead.
