NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Tuesday responded to the Liberal government’s 2023 federal budget saying that they were proud “for the first time ever – able to connect government investments to good wages. That’s never been there before, having those strings attached that we’re going to give supports and incentives to tackle the climate crisis, only if there is guarantees for good wages, good pay, and support for union jobs.” He also said they weren’t satisfied that the government hasn’t responded to the urgency of the housing crisis and put in place changes to Employment Insurance (EI).
