Murder charge laid after man stabbed outside Vancouver Starbucks dies

March 27, 2023
Paul Stanley Schmidt, 37, was stabbed outside the Starbucks at the corner of Granville and West Pender streets around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday following a "brief altercation," according to police. Schmidt was rushed to hospital, where he later died. The suspect, 32-year-old Inderdeep Singh Gosal, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with second-degree murder. Police are asking if anyone witnessed what happened to come forward, and not share videos of the scene on social media.
