Winnipeg pharmacist goes over what’s included in a Naloxone, Narcan overdose kits

Northway Pharmacy Brothers Pharmacy Manager Brett Roland unpacked a Naloxone kit on Friday. Kits are provincially-funded through Street Connections and are available at pharmacies for overdose prevention. Naloxone kits generally contain a snap-able glass capsule for Naloxone to be administered with a retracting needle syringe to prevent accidental poking. Narcan kits contain nasal sprayers with a fast-acting inhalant, which produces the same receptor-blocking effect as Naloxone.
