U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar promised on Friday that a “significant operation” is underway, days after four Americans were caught in a drug cartel shootout, leaving two dead and two held captive for days in a remote region of the Gulf Coast before they were rescued. Responding to a question, Salazar also said that a military set of operations would not actually resolve the issues or the cartels or address fundamental issues of security interests in North America.
