A large, steel sphere is prompting speculation both on social media and in Japan after it washed up on the country’s Enshuhama Beach this month. People have suggested it could be anything from a “Godzilla egg” or a “dragon ball” from the popular franchises, to a detached mooring buoy. Police have said it is not a threat, but have been unable to determine what it is.
