Vancouver is on a list of potential rotating Winter Games host cities discussed at the highest of the International Olympic Committee. As potential host sites dwindle and spiraling costs, the idea of abandoning the bid process and designating select host cities is being discussed to ensure there are locations capable of hosting the Winter Olympics well into the future.
