U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris spoke at the funeral of Tyre Nichols on Wednesday and blasted the actions of the officers charged in the murder of the 29-year-old, saying that “Tyre Nichols should’ve been safe.” She said the officers’ actions that night were “not in the interest of public safety” and called on Congress to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
