Monterey Park Police Chief Scott Wiese said Monday that while the investigation continues into the deadly shooting that killed 11 people at a Lunar New Year celebration in the city on Saturday night, “we may never know why” the crime occurred. He said he needs to be briefed on what was found during search warrants, but cautioned they may only ever have a “fragmented why”.
