Research into medicines continue, early detection remains key in delaying Alzheimer’s Disease progression
Description
January 12, 2023
A landmark study by the Alzheimer Society of Canada reported that in 2020, it was estimated there were close to 600,000 individuals living with dementia in the country. By 2030, we can expect this number will reach close to 1 million.
When it comes to diagnosis and treatment, what can we do to help delay or pause the progression of the disease? Dr. Jenny Ingram says early detection is key. She's a specialist in internal and geriatric medicine, and known for founding the Kawartha Centre clinic.
Teresa Kaszuba asked Dr. Ingram what elements can be critical in slowing, and one day possibly stopping the advancement of Alzheimer's Disease.
