Dr. Anthony Fauci, U.S. President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser, spoke with Global’s Washington Bureau Chief Jackson Proskow as he prepared to step down after more than 50 years at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Reflecting on his career span which saw seven presidents, Fauci said that, “I came as a 27-year-old newly-minted physician and I’m now a soon-to-be 82-year-old senior person in the biomedical research and global health establishment. So I ask myself, 'What do I have to offer the country and the world?’”
