Trudeau says Emergencies Act was ‘in the back of our minds’ but ‘seriously’ weighed later

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the Public Order Emergencies Commission on Friday that using the Emergencies Act in response to the weeks-long “Freedom Convoy” protests was in the “back of our minds” from the beginning. But he added that due to how the protests developed, invoking it was “seriously” weighed later.
