Emergencies Act inquiry: Bill Blair says Ottawa police’s initial response to convoy protest was ‘incorrect’

Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair told the commission investigating the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act that he believes the initial response to the so-called “freedom convoy” was “incorrect.” He said he believed allowing trucks into the downtown core was a mistake but added he had come to this assessment with the “clarity of hindsight.”
