Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair told the Public Order Emergency Commission (POEC) that he advised colleagues to “remain tempered” in their language about the so-called “Freedom Convoy” protest in Ottawa and blockades in Coutts, Alta. and Windsor, Ont. He said he was concerned “inflammatory language” could incite a violent response and or encourage people to attend the protest.
