Efforts underway to boost organ donation rates in Alberta

According to Canadian Blood Services, 90 per cent of Canadians support organ donation yet only 32 per cent have registered to donate. New legislation passed over the summer aims to make organ donation easier in Alberta. Dr. Dennis Djogovic is a critical care physician at the University of Alberta Hospital and the medical director of deceased organ donation for northern Alberta’s donation program. He joined the noon news to talk about the efforts underway to create a “culture of donation” in the province.
