The plinth that once served as the base for the statue of Queen Victoria at the Manitoba Legislative Building is being removed. The statue was toppled over a year ago during a demonstration over the deaths of Indigenous children at residential schools. No decision has been made on what might take the statue’s place on the Legislative grounds.
