Poilievre grills Liberals on economic action amid interest rate hike; Trudeau defends ‘rental and dental’ support

Speaking during question period in the House of Commons on Wednesday, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre pressed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Liberal measures against inflation, referencing the Bank of Canada half-point interest rate hike earlier that day. Trudeau defended the government’s economic policies with the GST tax relief, senior dental care and low-income renter support amid global rising inflation rates, in turn asking why Conservatives are not supporting Canadians “on rental and dental.”
