Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson testified at the Emergencies Act Inquiry on Tuesday, and pinpointed the desecration of the Terry Fox statue, dancing on the tomb of the unknown soldier, urinating on the Cenotaph and protesters stealing food from an Ottawa homeless shelter as incidents that turned the truckers protest into “completely despicable behaviour.” Watson added that “the vast majority of these people — and that kind of behaviour — were not being respectful, and were hurting their cause.”
