US midterms: Candidates try to shore up support ahead of crucial elections

In the U.S., voters are less than a month away from heading to the polls for crucial mid-term elections. Republicans had thought they could regain control of Congress, instead many races are too close to call and even pollsters are unsure who will control the balance of power after Nov. 8.
