The federal government released details Tuesday about a new rental top-up for families with a yearly income of less than $35,000 and for low-income individuals who make less than $20,000 a year. The rental top-up will mean a one-time payment of $500 to 1.8 million Canadians “who are struggling with the cost of housing.”
