Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 on Thursday, former prime minister Jean Chrétien reacted to the news. “She was respected everywhere – there must be millions and millions of people who are sad at this moment. And she had a great life and it was always a lot of dignity and she was an extremely pleasant person in private – I had the privilege to meet her for the first time in 1967,” the former prime minister said.
