Damage is estimated at $50,000 following a early morning house fire in Cobourg on Monday.
Around 2:15 a.m., members of the Cobourg Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Cornell Crescent.
When fire crews arrived, the homeowner was using a garden hose to try and douse the flames at the side of the house.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and checked the roof for any additional flames.
It appears the fire started on the outside of the home and spread up the walls.
Firefighters are investigating the cause but say it doesn’t appear suspicious.
