According to the Ellen MacArthur foundation, even though cities take up just two per cent of the earth’s landmass, they emit 80 per cent of greenhouse gases and consume 75% of the world’s natural resources.
A circular economy is all about changing that pattern.
The Peterborough region has just been accepted into an immersive initiative to become a circular city, joining nine other Canadian communities working on that in the next year.
Rhonda Keenan explained the elements of a circular economy to Teresa Kaszuba.
