The rapidly spreading monkeypox outbreak represents a “public health emergency of international concern”, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a media briefing on Saturday. Monkeypox has “spread around the world rapidly through new modes of transmission through which we understand too little,” Tedros said.
