Edmonton indigenous church held final mass in school gym ahead of Pope’s visit to newly restored building after fire

Sunday marked the final day a group of indigenous worshipers held mass in a temporary gymnasium. Edmonton’s Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples is set to re-open next week after its church building was destroyed by fire in 2020. The renovation timeline was sped up for the Pope’s visit, but not all will be done in time. Chris Chacon explains.
