Winnipeg Police Chief Danny Smyth spoke Friday on recent crime that has taken place at The Forks, including a double stabbing last week and a stabbing of a Ukrainian immigrant on Canada Day. While saying they were “alarming,” he made a comparison to previous years and added that such incidents are “not new.” He stressed all stabbings and homicides concern him, but added three recent incidents have been “resolved quickly with arrests and charges.”
