Downtown Eastside church destroyed in Wednesday night fire

A church in the Downtown Eastside area of Vancouver was destroyed in a fire late Wednesday night. Crews were called to the Vancouver Street Church and Balmoral Hotel, located on Hastings and Main streets, and found heavy smoke coming out of what appeared to be an abandoned building, Vancouver Fire Rescue says.
