World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus commented Wednesday on the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, saying that “safe abortion is health care.” He said the agency’s stance that “all women should have the right to choose when it comes to their bodies and health, full stop.” He added that limiting access can drive women to unsafe abortions, which could lead to death.
