Introducing hockey bodychecking at younger age doesn’t reduce injuries later: U of C study

Many Canadian minor hockey associations to forbid bodychecking until players reach the age of 15 and new research shows that is the right move to prevent injuries. A University of Calgary study shows introducing bodychecking at an early age doesn’t protect young players from injury as they move into older, harder-hitting leagues.
