John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House’s National Security Council, said Tuesday that “with the exception of what looks like a small number of Texas (legislators),” the American people recognize Joe Biden as the “democratically-elected” president. He said Biden’s focus has the authority and responsibility to defend the country. His comments came in response to questions over the Texas GOP claiming in their 2022 platform that Biden was the “acting” president and did not win the 2020 presidential election.
