Bisexual erasure: What it is, and how it impacts mental health
Description
June 22, 2022
Almost 500,000 people in Canada identify as bisexual, according to official data from Statistics Canada. However, although a growing portion of the Canadian population identifies as bisexual, those who come out as such are still met with denial, or their identities are questioned. This phenomenon is referred to as bisexual erasure. Global News’ Alyssa Julie explains what bisexual erasure is and how it can affect the mental health of those impacted.
