Spring is usually when things start to slow down for emergency departments, but the IWK says over the past six weeks, they’ve been over capacity nearly every day. The increase in visits has meant long waits and staff are at risk of burning out. But as Alicia Draus reports, fixing the problem goes well beyond the emergency department.
