On Monday, the stepfather of an 11-year-old was found guilty on two counts of false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13, three counts of aggravated child abuse with a weapon, four counts of aggravated child abuse and one count of child neglect in Orlando, Fla. The child was rescued by restaurant waitress Flaviane Carvalho, who noticed something was wrong when she served them on New Years Day of 2021. “Now he’s healthy, he’s being loved, it’s clear on his face and the way he’s acting that he’s much better now,” Carvalho said.
