U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced on Wednesday that, on request of the mayor of Uvalde, Texas, the Justice Department will be conducting a critical incident review of the law enforcement response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. Garland said the review will not be a criminal investigation, but will include interviews and site visits to the city. A final report will then be issued publicly and will include recommendations.
