The BC Centre for Disease Control confirmed its first case of monkeypox in the Vancouver Coastal Health area on Mon. June 6, 2022. Shortly afterward, B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix reiterated that overall risk to the public is low, but steps are underway to support the patient and bring awareness about monkeypox to the community.
