During question period at the House of Commons in Ottawa on Monday, Justice Minister David Lametti and Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said that Bill-C21 and initiatives against systemic racism are needed to fight Islamophobia. However, on the one-year anniversary of a Muslim family killed in London, Ont., Conservative MP Larry Brock questioned the effectiveness of these initiatives, saying that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has a “soft on crime agenda.”
