Toronto Police Chief James Ramer said on Thursday that a person is dead following a police-involved shooting in the city’s east end. Ramer added that the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is now handling the case. Police had been called over reports of a person carrying a rifle in the area of Marberley Crescent and Oxhorn Road shortly before 1 p.m. Several schools were placed on lockdown and those lockdowns were subsequently lifted.
