Jeopardy! champion Mattea Roach of Canada ended her record-breaking 23-win streak on Friday after losing by just US$1 to that night’s winner, Danielle Maurer. She was leading going into Final Jeopardy, but after failing to answer the final response correctly, Maurer edged past her with US$15,600 to Roach’s US$15,599. Her streak puts her at number five for both all-time consecutive games and all-time highest regular-season winnings lists.
