Pointe-Claire city council has put a freeze on a proposed housing project in the Cadillac Fairview shopping centre parking lot just two weeks after voting to keep the developers exempt from the freeze. As Global’s Tim Sargeant reports, residents will now have a greater say on the future use of the site but it could also stall the building of new residential units during a critical housing shortage.
