New York police Chief of Detectives James Essig detailed Wednesday how the suspect in the Brooklyn subway shooting changed from being a person of interest to a “wanted individual”. He also detailed the various aspects of the investigation, including that the gun recovered from the scene of the shooting had been purchased by the suspect in 2011. He also said the suspect was known to police.
