Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu said on Thursday that as of March 2, there has been a total 86,866 positive COVID-19 cases and 664 deaths on First Nations reserves due to the virus since the beginning of the pandemic. The Canadian Armed Forces has approved and extended five requests for federal assistance in First Nations communities in Ontario.
